lost and alone

This wee fella has been living at our front door for over a week now. He has been sheltering amongst the plant pots and has a wee dug out for himself.
Today was warm and he was out and about with me as I was poddling in the garden.
He seems ok, he can fly and is feeding well. However his feathers seem to indicate he is very young. Wee scone.

Oh he is a chaffinch and according to grandaddys birdwatching leaflet, we know he is a "he" because of his colouring.
