This face was peering out at me when I got into my car at lunchtime. Of course it was there when I arrived but I didn't spot it.

I shall look out for it again.

My method for avoiding double yellow lines when parking in the same place on the street, once I've established the ideal position, is by lining up with a fixed point, usually a distinctive stone in a wall or knot in a fence, so I know I'm just within the lines. There are certain regulars who leave a big gap up to the lines or between cars and reduce the available parking space, especially as they then run for a bus leaving those of us who work nearby to park further away.

I do wish they'd wise up.
