Mr. Ocotillo

The ocotillo is one of the most interesting plants in the desert of the Coachella Valley.

Although not as thick skinned and succulent as some cactus, it does quite well in the 110 degrees F heat of July and August.

In March and April, there are vibrant red flowers.

I may need to return to Mr. Ocotillo in the Spring.
