Margo's Mat

Remember that episode in 'The Good Life' when Margo makes the workman stand on a piece of newspaper inside the door?

Well, it seems I'm turning into Margo! Notice the cardboard at the entrance. Now that the stone flooring is being laid and the interior is beginning to seem as if it might one day be a finished room, I'm being tough on the amount of dirt being brought in.

The door is, I hope you realise, just a temporary one though we have made an effort with the gold knob. Eventually it will be a fully glazed door.

By the way, the hole in the wall low down on the right is for a cat/small dog flap. I didn't really think that a plastic flap would look that good set into the glass. So I suggested we insert one through the wall. The only trouble was that because our walls are so thick (for insulation) I had to order one from America where they do have really thick walls. It has a lined tunnel with an inside and outside flap.
