Follow the . . . . .
yellow red brick road!
Had a quick walk down our local nature reserve this afternoon and was intrigued by this row of bricks, many marked BBC. After a bit of investigating I found they marked the path of the conveyor belt which carried the clay from the clay-pits to the Bursledon Brickworks Company - hence BBC! The brickworks were founded in 1897 and is now the last surviving example of Victorian steam-driven brickworks. They're having an open day soon so have made a note in my diary to pay them a visit!! (with my camera of course!)
