Holme Station Saleyards
I'm blipping early today, just 1 pm NZ time, as I am having a visitor this afternoon. Nice to get it out of the way early for a change, my work days I blip very late usually.
Glorious day here, sun and some warmth too.
These now disused saleyards are just further out from where we live, very iconic. It was a regular meeting place for famers, stock agents and others to meet, talk farm prices (or the lack of them), the weather, and all sorts of other important issues. Sadly, with the times changing they have not been used since 2008.....
To see the two white horses, you need to go to large
.......they erected a memorial made from local limestone, it reads....
1980 - 2008
A Century of Sales
Site of the Holm Station Saleyards
Which for 100 years were a integral
part of the local comminity
This stone commerates those that
pioneered the Salesyards Company
& their successors who supported
it for all those years.
I notice I have had my week of glory at #1 on the favourite page, 36 faves in all, blimmy!! - thankyou all so much - from here on in I will be incognito :)
Have an awesome weekend friends, I intend to!!
