Sunset Light
It's a last minute blip. After I forgot to take the camera when we left for our therapy dog visit I had decided not to pursue a post for today. But the pink light of sunset sky and the pink lilies at the foot of the stairs reminded me of Helen's finely drawn delicacy and so...
Mace did her job as therapy dog very confidently and co-operatively today. She was more focused on me than usual, which I attributed to the extra good treats that I knew she knew were in my pocket. We didn't get to see "our" Helen though. She is dying. Her family is with her. A staff member was kind and alerted me not to barge in. Instead we spent a little extra caring time with each of our other folks. When we got home both dogs stayed close to me (even when I didn't have food.) That's not unusual for Lexus but Mace likes to have a long private nap after our T dog visits. It was comforting to be the recipient of their dedicated company. I will miss Helen.
