Bye 'eck but it's warm and sunny today :-)

I've strayed from the Righteous Path of Grim again recently and so, ignoring the abundance of Spring prettiness, I bring you: a derelict school.

I passed it the other morning when I got a lift into work, but it wasn't possible to stop and blip, so I nipped out for some fresh air earlier and set off off to take a few shots of it as it's not far from campus.

I knew it was a derelict, old school but it was only as I was sticking the lens through the railings and marvelling at the grimness that I noticed signs and laminated newspaper articles attached to the gates and railings. The school closed 7 years ago, but the building has been given a temporary respite as part of Cameron's "Big Society" doodah. The aim is to convert it into an educational and community hub for the area - but (and it's a big but) only if £750 000 can be raised by September.

It's a lot of money, especially in the current climate and it's not the wealthiest area of Leeds, but I wish them well with it and one day hope to blip it, fully restored and serving a new purpose.

Oh and if ever any of my blips needed to be viewed in large then it's this one. So please do, or else I'll come round at tut at you ;-)
