I am a strong advocate of the use of Twitter, especially if you have either a product or service to market or you have a strong interest in a particular subject. One of the things I have find with Twitter is how your circle of friends can grow to people you wouldn't' usually come across and as a result be exposed ro really exciting opportunities.
Through me Twitter feed, I responded to a request from one of the people I follow to photograph an event called Be Good be Social. It brings together third sector professionals interested in social media for social good. The events are a chance to learn, debate and connect with others working for non-profits, charities and social enterprises.
it was really interesting to hear, whilst photographing, how often poorly funded organisations are undertaking amazing this using tools like Twitter, Facebook, you Tube, Audioboo and in the future maybe even Blipfoto to raise awareness of what they are doing and really engaging with people - something many profit making businesses could learn from actually!
