The Colour of Maadi
This morning saw another early morning movie in a near-empty cinema. Today's film was Solitary Man. Didn't leave a lasting impression.
Afterwards, Larissa and I took a long wander round the streets of Maadi in all its filthy noisy glory. Everybody seems to have gotten bored the post-revolution tidy streets campaign and the roads are back to their normal state.
The usual beeping, beggars, staring, and dirt-avoidance was offset by a nice latté and a fresh breeze and when we got to this street (which I pass daily on the way home from work but which I've never mustered up the courage to photograph due to the horrendous amounts of attention you get in these poorer areas), Larissa's haram legs (bare from the knee-down, the hussy) provided the perfect distraction for me to fire off a quick couple of shots with the minimum of abuse.
Back home now, with the evening set to be taken up with The West Wing (season five) and some more shitty knicker action courtesy of Dead Space 2, which makes me take the Lord's name in vain at quite an offensively alarming rate.
