Cherries to come

We have an English cherry tree in our garden and, being an English cherry, it only fruits every two to three years.
Last year there was not one single solitary cherry on the tree.
The year before it was absolutely laden with beautiful peachy pink fruits that turned redder and redder after being picked.
This year is anyone's guess but there is quite a lot of blossom on it this year so I am hopeful, and my mouth is watering at the thought of cherry pies to come.
