Birch Leaves in Spring

We have three Birch Trees growing in our back garden, planted there by Mrs. Joesblips a long time ago as a constant reminder of her Finnish homeland. They have done very well and all three are pretty well full grown now, strong and sturdy. Despite the horrible winter, or perhaps because of it, they are now waking up and spreading their branches to the sunshine. The result has been a wonderful burst of green over the past couple of weeks.

So, especially for all my Finnish friends and particularly for Paivi and Akku, here is what our birches look like today. This was shot early this morning before the sun had evaporated all the dew of the night. Another few weeks and you will have this great green explosion for yourselves.
