Hide and Seek
We spent a lovely afternoon in the Garden with a friend of ours and his microscope. We saw many things up close, some familiar to us already (Dragonfly Larva, Flatworms) and some less so (Shrimp, Ramshorn Snail Eggs). We also had a very illuminating and fascinating view of Tadpoles in their very early, 'blob' stage as well as a look at some very small white wormlike creatures (no more than 2mm in length) that seem, to me at least. to look like swimming rubber tubes!
The star of the show was the Caddis Fly Larva in the picture; We have several of these and we picked this one out but were worried as he refused point blank to show himself. He only put in an appearance once he was put into the Petri dish under the microscope!
