Blazing Sky

Awoke this morning to an amazing sky, we have been noticing that lately there have been some really lovely cloud formations but this morning the sky was absolutly on fire. Its been a lovely day today and I cant work out why the old saying is "red sky in the morning, sailors warning", it would have been a lovely morning for a sail Im sure.

It got me thinking...........

Where do all the old sayings like this come from and why?
I was brought up with sayings like that but in the end they never really have any merit at all. Odd eh..................
