Cowrie Shells

A close-up of some of the Cowrie Shells Janette found on the beach on Saturday. It has become something of an obsession when visiting beaches on the west coast of Scotland; so if you ever encounter a couple on a beach, she head down, posterior skyward pointing and he Olympus DSLR glued to face please say hello we are not as odd as we look!
For an idea of scale, the largest shell on the right is 11-12mm in length.
