Giant Spring Onions
A friend who is a really good gardner gave me a big bag of spring onions and spinach today. They really are huge! I made champ tonight with them. For those of you who don't know, it's a recipe from home using mashed potatoes, milk and butter. The spring onions, (or "scallions" as we used to call them) are chopped finely and stirred into the mash at the last moment. Delicious!
I think the French for spring onions is "Cebettes."
I had some spinach as well but I don't like it as much so it's a matter of eating it because I know it's good for me!
