Acre

Today's trip was to Acre, or Akko as it's sometimes written in English. St George is very popular here, tho I can find no connection to him with the city. He was born in Lod, which is near Tel Aviv and was executed in Nicomedia ( in Turkey? ) but there is a church dedicated to him here.

However, I decided to use a shot of the harbour with all the fishing boats and nets. We spent the day wandering around, had lunch at the harbour and spent the afternoon dodging heavy rain showers on the wettest day of our holiday!
