Star & Garter Hotel

This is a picture of the Star & Garter Hotel taken from the platform at Linlithgow Station.

Sadly the Star & Garter Hotel was devastated by a fire last October. It started as a stately three storey Georgian mansion in the 1700s before becoming a public house in the 1840s. It's been a regular sight throughout my life in Linlithgow for over 35 years so it's sad to see its burned out shell on the corner of the High Street.

The good news is the owners intend to re-build it and reopen the Star within the next 18 to 24 months.
