surely you can see

As sofobomo approaches, I've started thinking more about ideas for my little pdf project (my final product will be a pdf).

So far I have three ideas: this is one, Monday's blip is another, and the third I haven't really tried out yet.

Lately I've been so fascinated by images that really don't have any data in them...for so long I was hung up on data - resolution, details, information. I think my mind is rebelling against it.

Oddly enough, my third idea is taking pictures of address number signs on the street that runs past my apartment to downtown Cleveland (and the street is called Detroit Avenue, so as you can guess it goes a good way to the west as well!).

It feels weird to me to go after an idea so narrowly defined and which could quite easily be ridiculously pretentious if I attached some asinine artist's statement to it. But I won't, so I guess it's ok. I just like looking at things. :)

This one is really just looking at the way we light up our world at night...looking at the patterns of illumination without letting the details get in the way. Doesn't sound too pretentious, does it? :)

The pinhole one is more about time for me...long exposures have been in my mind lately, looking at things as they exist for a non-instantaneous period (Monday's picture was 15 seconds).

Also both end up kind of pretty when I do them right. Which is rarely. :)
