The Courtyard
at the House Of Dun by Montrose.
I wanted to take this picture last time I was up but there were work vans and workers around as it was out of season.
The buildings to the front right and left were stables which have now been converted - one to the Cafe Dun and one to the Crafts of Angus Showroom & Shop (which I am a member of).
Under the clock and into the courtyard you are looking at the side of the house and what you cant see on either side are the other outbuildings, most now converted for other purposes including housing a traditional weaver and loom.
Because it is such a rare property and is owned by the NTS, great pains are taken to ensure that original features are kept & restored so I cant imagine this scene has changed much, if at all in many many years.
