Apple Blossom After The Rain
Hooray it rained at last... everything that was getting too dry is now refreshed.
It's apple blossom week and there's masses of it. First the plums (and damsons) then the cherries and now the apples and pears have joined in.
Just a glimmer of evening sunlight through the clouds lit the apple blossom on this tree.
There seems to be sufficient trees about to pollinate. I was a little concerned since my John Downey crab apple, which is our special cross pollinator tree, broke last year under the weight of it's apples. This lazy gardener should have spotted it time and removed some, but he didn't. I cut to back and there's some new shots but I don't know if it'll recover properly. Certainly no blossom for poor John this year.
