Money well spent

Thought I'd capture the lilies that I brought about 3 weeks ago; I've certainly had my money's worth out of them, as they took over a week to open up, and have been looking lovely ever since.

I know some of you disapprove of lilies (headaches, runny noses and itchy eyes), but they are one of my favourite flowers (along with sunflowers), hence today's blip.

The children seem to be finally giving in to the fact that they are tired and need a rest. The first part of any school holiday always involves them (particularly the boys), running around like mad things because they have been relieved of the routine that school offers. Now they have calmed a little, so we might all get along without so much fighting and arguing.

And Hannah is off to a 'garden party' this afternoon. Not sure what this involves with a bunch of twelve year olds, but I'm sure it's not cucumber sandwiches. Probably a lot of jumping around to Justin Bieber, and lots of fizzy drinks...
