Menjangan Island

We only have internet at reception and by the time we have got back from whatever we're doing and had dinner there is just about enough energy left to blip, nearly didn't make it tonight!!
This morning at breakfast we could see the 4 huge volcanoes across the bay, Wow!
Today we hired a boat and boatman and went to Menjangan Island, the round trip was about 3.5 hours, I really enjoyed the boat ride, an open boat with peeling layers of paint and an engine that kept stalling. When we arrived much to Gulliver's disgust I suggested walking up the steps and looking at this temple, it was really hot and quite a mission but amazing! Lots of lesser temples all leading to this impressive statue of Ganesh at the end! Here viewed from the boat. The boys went snorkeling with Max and saw lots of fish!
After that we went back on the boat to look at all the bats roosting in the sea caves!
Then we hung out on the beach and swam in the pool, all the pools here are mineral water and there are several hot springs too, really nice!
