"Bye Bye"

Local friends of Rene got together in our village church at the same time as his funeral in Paris. The violets and primroses are from his garden. He always used to call out to me as I pedalled off from their house "bye bye" in the best French accent, it was the only English he ever used. Today was our turn to say bye bye to him.
