Return of the Birds

So delighted o report that the birds are back in the garden and by the look of this very puffed up siskin I think they must have been very busy. Don't know an awful lot about them but wonder if the reason some of them are so chubby might be because they are about to lay eggs.... note to self find out about bird habits - not my major strength.

I was fascinated watching this little siskin resting there hiding its head inside the wing feathers then suddenly it lifted its head and seemed to make an enormous effort to lift itself up to the feeder station to get some food. Must put seeds on the ground. No cats around here , I think Oscar has chased them all away so the birds shouldn't be in any danger from cats.
