Old Letters

My mother rarely threw anything out so there are loads of old letters and items of interest that she kept - especially around the big events in her life - her 21st, her wedding, children's births, her first job.

The wedding letters illustrate both congratulations but also some rather tight-lipped disapproval that she happened to be marrying a Catholic.

Dance cards, menus with signatures on the back of everyone who was there, yellowing newspaper articles, golf club membership card. And even a bill from the nursing home to illustrate how much it cost to bring me into this world - 45 pounds and 10 shillings! A bargain!

I'll try to scan as much as I can onto the computer. I guess I'm just as big a hoarder as she was.
