Wet and misty day at Pulpit Rock

Normally an outstanding view into the Grose Valley from Pulpit Rock, but today was just layers of grey.

In November 2006, two lightning strikes started a fire in the Grose Valley, which, two days later was pronounced out of control. A large backburn was carried out to protect the villages of Mount Victoria, Blackheath and Medlow Bath, which in turn got out of control and a massive 14,000 hectares of the Grose Valley was burnt (part of the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park) including the prized Blue Gum Forest.
