Thriller in the city ...

Today there was a Thriller flashmob in the city. We hurried to the Hippodrome for 11am to find out the venue, but it turned out you had to register and go into a rehearsal in order to find that out. Which isn't surprising - the element of the unexpected being essential to a good flashmob event. We waited for a while to see whether we could find out incidentally but gave up, figuring that it would be in one of three major open public spaces in the city centre.

They kept it very hush hush because even by ten to one, there was no sign of anyone at the Bullring - where we thought it was bound to happen - we'd spotted some of the dancers earlier at the Hippodrome, practising their moves, so thought we'd identify them in the crowds. Then I caught sight of one - and behind her three others - racing up New Street to Victoria Square. We followed and arrived to see a huge PA, cameras, filming and an enormous screen advertising 'Thriller, the Musical'. *Bit of a giveaway*

Anyway. Got to say, a bit disappointed with the event. Too many people smiling and not enough zombie action .... Thriller really doesn't work if everyone looks like they're having a good time. So, instead, here is one of the warm up acts. I call this picture 'gusset'. Not sure why.
