QVS - An Old Stomping Ground

Day 1 of my latest mystery tour around the country. This time it was a log way north to Inverness for an environmental compliance test at an old BP fuel terminal. After setting off at 4am, and having a really good run north, I was just passing through Dunblane, and wanted to stop for a look - as well as a leg stretch. To some of those of you who follow my blips on facebook, this photo will need no explanation. For all others this link will explain a lot more.

To sum this up, I am proud of the many years I spent at this fine establishment, with all its varied traditions - along with the way it has adapted to modern needs. Sadly, I couldn't stay longer to have a proper look around as I needed to continue my journey northwards. After all, its nearly 20 years since I left QVS. I must make the effort to return to my old haunts and catch up with old friends - or at least show my own children round.

After finishing work, I met up with my brother, who lives near Inverness in a wee place called Conon Bridge. We went out for a wander after tea with a promise of a nice view over Strathpeffer to the nearby Ben Wyviss. Sadly, the wind picked up and the clouds started to hinder my view. Saying that, I did manage this shot. Keep your eyes open, here and facebook as well. There's a few more to appear.
