Howth Harbour
Packed up and ready to go by 10am. Ferry sailing at 17.30pm. What to do? Mr Raheney Eye had mentioned Howth as a fine wee toon to visit. Sure enough it is. So we drove there - it's pretty much on the way to Larne anyway - and had a couple of hours pottering around the harbour and sitting on a bench while the kids played in the essential swing park. Nice wee harbour for photies and the big pillowy clouds fringed with grey helped out a lot. Nicer bigger.
Another two and a half hours to Larne so that we could sit around for an hour waiting to get on board and then sit around for another two hours and then sit around in the car driving back. It's a lot of sitting.
And Mandy made the mistake of getting £100 out of an Ulster Bank machine. They're Ulster Bank notes - about as plausible as Monopoly money.
