Marrakech - Day 2

A sleep to beat all sleeps after our long day yesterday. Eventually surfaced for breakfast on the roof terrace around 10.30 - breads, pastries, jams, juice, yogurt and coffee - all delicious.

Fortified and ready to go we ventured out onto our guide book's 'souk safari' walk, spending a few hours in the different shopping areas of the chaotic but fascinating medieval souk, like one big huge Hollywood film set with a cast of thousands. Everything and anything available to buy. Don't even need to haggle - just walk away and the price is instantly cut by half!

This is the decorative tiling at the Ben Youssef Medersa - a former Islamic school in the heart of the Medina, beautifully decorated with tiles and carvings, bringing back memories of my trip to Esfahan in Iran a few years back.
