Exploding Beech

The first of the beeches starts exploding! This beech, which sits at a place exposed to the southwest, gets a lot of sun. It is the first of aprox. a thousand beeches that decided it was time to show it was alive.

It is a tremendous sight to see that a bud is in fact not a single leaf, but a complete new branch with leaves and all!

Did no work on the project today, other dan watering the buxus. Instead, dug in some 50 meters of cabling for the automatic irrigation. On that subject, more later.

A quiet day today.

Daughter in Australia, son away for a hockey match and Mrs. Dutchoak parties as the local football team (of which she is on the medical staff) has become champion today!
