Octopus at the Scorpion

Octopus is a traditional dish in the central region of Portugal, specially in Catholic celebrations in which they don't eat meat.
We had delicious octopus salad as part of dinner this evening at the Escorpião in the Baixa de Maputo at the Feira Popular de Maputo amusement park.
Here's the recipe:

Wash the octopus and put it into a pan. Cover the pan and let cook on the stove until the octopus is tender.
Cooking time is approximately 1 hour and you should use middle power on the stove.
You should not add any water because the octopus will release enough water during cooking process.
Drain the octopus and cut in small pieces. Peel and cut an onion into small pieces. Drain and cut the pickles (cauliflower, cucumber and carrot) in small pieces.
Mixed everything and add olive oil and vinegar on taste.
