The Camerengo

My Mum's lovely racehorse, known to us as Ringo.
Here he is returning after coming 3rd in the Mens Open Race at Garthorpe today. Three and a half miles and 21 fences.
Now 11 years old, he ran a really fine race.

When horses have a gleaming summer coat you can make patterns on it by brushing the hair in one direction, then placing a stencil over and brushing the hair in a different direction. Here you can see on his rump a stencilled pattern of roses and a star.

Ringo's jockey, Ollie Murphy wears breeches with the slightly worrying logo 'A & E', fortunately its a fire protection company, not a message to the ambulance crew in attendance!

Ringo is looked after by the lovely Laura, who rides him every day and treats him like royalty.
He'll be coming home soon for a long summer holiday with plenty of grass and relaxation.
