Lime Kiln, Lancashire

A familiar sight throughout the Limestone belt of Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire are the Lime Kilns. This is the largest one I have found, at Peter Lane, near Leighton Hall - they are hard to date but most likely originate from late-1600s to early 1700s.
