In memory of those left behind

This is a memorial in the churchyard of Kitee Evangelical Lutheran church for those whose final resting place was left behind the border when Karelia was divided between Finland and Soviet Union after World War II. The instrument pictured in the memorial is Kantele, a traditional instument in Finland, Karelia and Estonia.
