The Refund

This is a refund check from my insurance company in the amount of $9.14.

I have an excellent health insurance plan...for a very high premium, I might add (but that is neither here nor there).

Point is, that I see a particular physician every month. Being a specialist, the charge is rather expensive. My insurance covers the entire cost of my visits. It caught up with me three months ago when I got a bill from his office for over three hundred dollars.

Naturally, the first thing I did was call his office and inquire as to nature of the problem. They told me that for some reason, after having submitted the bill to my insurance company for that month (last August) they were told that it would be the patient's responsibility to pay and the insurance company would reimburse the patient.

The insurance company concurred with that when I contacted them. They couldn't explain it...why it was for just that one month...but they said they would be sending me reimbursement check(s).

For a charge that was over three hundred dollars last August, so far I have received a check for $2.46 and this one for $9.14. It's going to be a long time before I see my money.
