Butterfly 4: Speckled Wood

Today I did some walk checking for Get Walking, Keep Walking - and had a lovely time doing it. Much of the route, I was familiar with, but it included one area that was new to me. The walk included some wonderful views across the city, and despite the proximity to the city centre, wildlife abounded. I spent some time in one of the parks watching a great spotted woodpecker, but didn't manage to get a decent photo. The most common butterfly in the areas I walked was the speckled wood. Tomorrow, I'm hoping to complete the check, and the area it covers promises to provide some more fine wildlife.
