Creeping Clouds Over
I didn't really catch this image at the best time, it was perfect when I was driving home from work this evening, but then I was higher up and the light was different and the clouds were truly pouring over the lips of the far Sierra Tejadas. I got in and ran for my camera and then up the street to the top of the village and here it is.
The chimney in the foreground is derelict and stands at the foot of the Sierra de Almijara and all you see is National Park. This building and its chimney are the remains of the Antigua resin distillation plant set up in 1902. The Great Fire (or as it is referred to here The Flaming Forest) in 1975 saw its demise and devastated the area. At the time this village had only just been hooked up to the grid for electricity.
