Speckled Wood

Went to work crumpled (didn't get ironing done!).

Deadlines again tomorrow so a hard slog to get stuff done today. The upcoming batch of bank holidays won't help our workflow either!

Managed to escape for a quick stroll at lunchtime. Gave me an opportunity to loosen up some aching muscles and get some fresh air.

I followed the public footpath through the fields and came across this Speckled Wood butterfly flitting around the trees and landing in sunny patches on the ground. I managed to track it down and take a photo before it headed off again.

Back home for a tidy up - my turn to host both book groups this week. Will need an emergency supermarket trip tomorrow lunchtime for wine (lots) and nibbles (assorted).
