River Mt Fitz Roy

Well today was a bit of a shambles to put it mildly.

Yesterday I slept through dinner (it was my birthday), and I had a little rest at 6pm, only to find myself awake at 3am! I then did some emailing and catching up and went back to bed, only to wake at 9am!

Gee, what a disaster. I am currently on vacation in El Chalten, and today was the best day to get out this week and potentially see Mt Fitz Roy. The reception staff at this hosteria are fabulous and arranged a taxi for me to a path into the park that could save me some time. The weather was fabulous, and although the peaks were a little shrouded in cloud today you could still see them.

It was 8 hours of hiking, through some of the windiest terrain ever! I managed to lose a filter (sorry to the National Parks), but it was a fabulous day out. Now, not two hours after returning it is raining and oh so windy, but this is Patagonia.

I am off for dinner, and hopefully I won't miss out on too much tomorrow!
