Red-winged blackbird.

I find these little birds very difficult to photograph wel, and I have not managed to do so yet. It is all too easy to lose all the detail in their shiny black feathers, and the red epaulettes don't show very well when they are perching. They are quite easy to find as they make a hell of a din quite a bit of noise, and they flit about in bushes and reeds at the water's edge. Only the male, needless to say, wears the fancy dress and very exotic he looks too as he flashes past. The females hang about longer, but they are a drab brown, so who cares?
