Sometimes it's impossible to tell if you kept something around for 40 years because you love it so ...

or because you fear that no matter how often you throw it away, it will always find its way back to you and there is not enough courage in the world to make you want to find out.

ps. Honestly though, while clowns freak my out something fierce at this point in time, I don't remember being afraid of clowns when I was little.
