Roni, Huddersfield

It's been such a long day. I can't believe it's not even 10pm. Been working all day on a deli counter (like a proper musician) & then at 4.30pm, before the end of my shift, mat announced we were heading to Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield to play a few songs to promote our 26th May show there.

After cycling home, I entered the shower at a run, proceeded to the kitchen where we both wolfed down some bread and (deli) olives & we galloped out of the flat at high speed, only to be caught in horrible traffic on the M62. We arrived in Huddersfield, backed along a one-way street & into the theatre car park, only to quite literally bounce onstage & play two songs. We then turned round, after a brief glass of wine, and drove back to Manchester. Rock n roll...

This beautiful lady is a singer that I met in Huddersfield tonight. I was delighted that she agreed to let me capture her wonderful profile. She and her partner Phillip have a Motown duo & showed us some cool photos of their tour.

In other news, last night saw the first staged reading of my new (& very first) play, Full Volume, a light political comedy that draws on the time I spent living in a tree in the late 1990s...I was very pleased with how it went & look forward to spending some time editing & making use of the fine crits and ideas it generated.

Also, I'm hoping that the phone upgrade that arrived today will increase the quality of my photos...It's very exciting! Not had a moment to even open the box yet, but I'm hoping to do so tonight...Expect grainy shots, as ever, but hopefully with a higher resolution!...
