Spitting at the gull?

Was on the beach trying to get a decent photo of a red breasted merganzer in the water. Just snapping photos of birds. The merganzer wasn't all that good....I remembered Gillie's good advice to "practice on seagulls" so took this gull on the beach (altho I think she meant flying...) and as I took it I thought "Oh he's spitting! Not til I looked at the photo did I see there were 2 clams spitting at the same time! I could probably sit there all day and not catch this (but would manage a different dof probably....)
Nice day, heard some loons, we're packing up to leave, back to Seattle tonight.
