The village 'conker tree'

This tree is a magnificent specimen and I love to see it in flower as now. It has pushed cracks into the garden walls and lifted the narrow pavement. I don't know what will happen to it ultimately but for now it is protected. In the Autumn the ground is covered in beautiful conkers and I usually have a small bowl of them in the kitchen, they are irrisistible.
The concert last night was magical. What a great guy (Andre Rieu), he had people dancing in the aisles to The Blue Danube! It was worth the effort of getting there, I did hate leaving the garden in the heat of the afternoon. Resumed this afternoon after Oxfam shift and the weeds are getting the heave ho from the borders gradually.
PS. I have a lottery ticket for tonight on the strength of my 'lucky' horseshoe find of Monday.
