Picture Card Symbols

Gotta love PCS.

My son Marcus uses these symbols to help "bridge" his communication skills where his language is concerned. Although he has a huge vocabulary, it's still difficult for him to find the "words" to express himself. These wonderful symbols help him (and us) with that so he can get his point across.

I've made these symbols today for Marcus for school. Ironically, he is taking French this year which is unbelievable since he barely has a grasp for the English Language. Our Ontario's curriculum states this year that there will be no exemptions from Core French for children with special needs. I do have to laugh though because Marcus learns by pictures and by scripting things which therefore, he has learned a few words in French....not to mention he can sing our Canadian National Anthem in French! (Something that his parents can't do...lol).

We did fight at the beginning of the year to have him exempted from this class, but he does enjoy attending the class and he has learned a few things from it....so I figured....what the heck! So his Individualized Learning Plan has been accomodated to set his goals accordingly so he can hopefully be successful.
