Salute
A 21 gun salute at Stirling Castle in Scotland to mark the occasion of the Queen's birthday. The firing party was mainly (I think) from the University Officers Training Corps and they did very well indeed. Quite a few ladies in the firing party too - in fact in this shot it is a lady who has the responsibility of loading the shell into the field gun.
ps - the black spots are not dust on the camera lens or on the sensor: they are bits of the blank round ejected from the muzzle of the gun when it is fired.
