Legend has it that this is the remains of a Viking longboat, come to plunder Cockenzie power station. I have my doubts.

Edit - I've just noticed that you can see the Cockenzie parish church at the foot of the right-hand chimney. The church was probably the biggest building until the power station was constructed!
