A walk in the woods..

A group of friends went for a walk round the Stations of the Cross at Nunraw Abbey - a Cistercian Foundation in East Lothian.

The Cistercians, who are great farmers, came back to Scotland in 1946 and settled here. They set about building a new abbey - which was never quite finished. These days the community is small and quite old. The location is beautiful.

We've done this walk for 4 or 5 years now, and end up for lunch in the village pub.

What a magnificent day for it! Last year the outing was snowed off!
